As a parent, I’m always on the lookout for cool and affordable activities that I can do with my kid, so Neonika definitely caught my attention. Billed as LA’s first neon exhibition, it’s basically a colorful, glowing playground of 7 distinctive rooms filled with neon art, immersive displays, and plenty of spots that were clearly made for taking photos. But unlike a lot of the other Instagram-friendly pop-ups around LA that can cost a small fortune, Neonika is only $15, which makes it a much easier sell for a quick family outing. You can wander around, snap some ridiculous photos, let your children soak up all the glowing weirdness, and be on your way without feeling like you just financed an art exhibition. It’s not the kind of place where you’re going to spend half a day, but that’s kind of the appeal. For $15, Neonika offers something colorful, quirky, and genuinely different from the usual LA activity lineup.
