The 2nd floor Sound Chamber

Billed as a fusion of art, science, and magic; The Integratron looms in the Mojave Desert like a flying saucer from an Ed Wood science fiction film. Construction began in 1954 by former aviation engineer; George Van Tassel, after an alleged encounter with an alien (a 700 year old inhabitant of Venus named Solganda, to be exact) who relayed to Van Tassel how to build a functional time machine. Wether or not you call BS on this origin story, The Integratron is still a sight to behold.

The 38-foot high, 55-foot diameter, all-wood dome (held together without a single nail) is supposedly built upon an intersection of powerful geomagnetic forces that amplifies the earth’s magnetic field which can apparently rejuvenate anyone within. Perhaps this is why The Integratron was purchased in 2000 by The Karl sisters who restored the structure in order to share its phenomenal acoustic properties with the world, providing a one-of-a-kind sound bath experience for anyone from this planet or beyond.

After a quick introduction on the ground-level floor of The Integratron, guests climb up a set of stairs to the 2nd floor sound chamber which is an absolute marvel to witness firsthand. As you get comfy on the provided plush mats, your sound bath instructor will begin to play a series of crystal singing bowls, each bowl devoted to a major “chakra” of the body. This is when you will begin to appreciate the full acoustic power of the dome since your body will literally begin to vibrate with each successive tone. I’m not sure how much I believe in chakras (although I did see a lot of swirling purple and green when my eyes were closed which are two of the major chakra colors), but the experience was thoroughly relaxing and quite meditative. I’m positive this tranquility can be enjoyed by all no matter what you believe in.
