Some would argue that there are few better ways to enjoy a summer evening in Los Angeles than catching a game at Dodger Stadium. So when you add fireworks to the mix (since everyone loves fireworks) you pretty much have the perfect night in store… given that the Dodgers win, obviously… given that you’re a Dodger fan, of course. But what if I told you it gets even better? Well believe it or not, it does! That’s because you can enjoy said fireworks right on the field at Dodger Stadium. Let me repeat, you get the opportunity to go onto the field at Dodger Stadium just like the players and take in the fireworks from a surreal vantage point.

Not many sports franchises let their fans, en masse, roam the playing field on a regular basis. Even when you embark on one of those VIP tours, the closest that they normally let you get is right on the fringes. So the fact that Dodger Stadium allows this rare opportunity (along with Sunday afternoon “Kids Run The Bases”) is a testament to how much they value their fan base and is an experience you must take full advantage of because it’s one you’ll never forget.

In closing, here’s a couple of tips and reminders to make the most of the occasion. They allow you to line up in front of center field at the top of the 8th inning (in two lines - one winding around right pavilion and one winding around left pavilion). There’s no rush to get into line since everyone, in most cases, will be allowed onto the field… there really isn’t a bad spot once you make it onto the field… and all semblance of a line gets thrown out the window once they finally allow you to proceed since everyone bum-rushes the entrance anyhow. Fans are allow to set up in the entirety of the outfield, but aren’t allow passed the infield area. Feel free to brink a small blanket since a lot of people choose to sit on the grass during the fireworks, but with that being said, the grass is perfectly dry without one. As mentioned earlier, every spot in the outfield makes for great firework watching, but in my humble opinion, setting up in front of 2nd base is the ideal position. Finally, please remember that field access won’t be allowed if the game doesn’t end before 10:45PM. And fireworks won’t occur at all if the game doesn’t end before 11PM.
